To improve the communication skills of the students, the college started an audit course ‘Employability Skill Development’ from 2018-19.
Audit Course-AC3201: Employability Skill Development – I
Teaching Scheme : Lectures: 2 Hrs/2Week
The audit course is beneficial to develop the analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and communication skills of the students, to enhance their prospects.
The course objectives are :
- To develop English language proficiency
- To make them aware of the communication skills necessary for getting employed and being successful in a profession.
This course contains two sections
Section A: Communication Skill and Section B: Quantitative Aptitude
The module related to Language and Communication skills is as below
Section A – Communication Skill
[Speaking Skills – Public Speaking, Presentation skills, Group discussion]- Self-introduction- Elevator pitch, SWOT analysis, Resume Preparation as per College format. (4 hrs)
- Mock interviews (individual) (4 hrs)
- Group Discussion on current issues.(4 hrs)
- Presentation skills on Seminar /Mini Project, Mad ads (4 hrs)
- Public Speaking: Book/ Movie Review, Extempore, Debates (4 hrs)
- Written Communication (4 hrs)
After successful completion of the course, students will be :
- Equipped with essential language skills (written, verbal and non-verbal)
- Able to exhibit their presentation skill and be ready for facing interviews
